Michael’s Profile

I was born in Taiwan, but my family immigrated to South Africa when I was young. I went through the education system in South Africa and graduated as a physiotherapist in 2005. I have always been very sports-oriented, and that led me to specialise in the various musculoskeletal injuries that one faces from everyday sports and activities. In South Africa, I worked in a musculoskeletal clinic with clients ranging from elite athletes to weekend warriors. I was also a part of a medical team for football and rugby teams on tours. I had the pleasure of working with the South African Ballet Company, treating the dancers, and was chosen to be the backstage physiotherapist for a popular TV show, South Africa’s Strictly Come Dancing, in 2007 and 2008.

I moved to London in 2009, where I continued honing my skills and added acupuncture and running analysis to my expertise. I continued with my sporting passion and worked with athletes in badminton and tag rugby league.

I started my new venture in Hong Kong in 2023 and was invited to be the courtside physiotherapist at the Victor Badminton Open in Hong Kong 2023. I was also selected to be the touring physiotherapist for the Hong Kong Men’s Netball team during their tour to Singapore.
