Dickson’s Profile
I graduated from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University with First Class Honours and Dean’s Honours List. During the undergraduate study, besides having rotations in different hospitals, I volunteered in different sports teams and events, such as the PolyU Women Basketball and USRC Tigers Rugby Team, and provided on-field physiotherapy assessment and treatments to athletes. These experiences boosted my interest to pursue further in musculoskeletal and sports physiotherapy.
After graduation, I have been working in a private clinic in HK, treating all kinds of musculoskeletal conditions, such as sports injuries, work-related pain, jaw pain, overuse, and repetitive strains. Moreover, I have treated hundreds of patients suffering from vestibular dysfunction experiencing vertigo and dizziness through repositioning techniques and exercises.
With my interest in sports physiotherapy, I have continued my on-field physiotherapy work. I am currently one of the team physiotherapists of the PolyU Women basketball team and the Hong Kong Football Association Youth Representative teams.
I have profound interest and expertise in managing musculoskeletal conditions and vestibular conditions.
I have treated lots of sports injuries, spinal pain related to work and jaw pain in my past working experience. I also treat different vestibular conditions, such as BPPV, hypofunction, and cervicogenic dizziness.
Speaking about treatment techniques, I utilise a wide range of manual therapy techniques, such as, mobilisation, soft tissue releases, or manipulation. I also practice a lot of acupuncture for inflammation and pain control. Apart from passive treatment, I believe that exercise is the best medicine. Hence, I prescribe tailor-made exercise plans for all my patients.
